The Charm of Buddleia

Buddleia has become a predominant feature of waste grounds, road sides and nature reserves, and a host to finches who feed on the seeds as the plants die back in the autumn. Goldfinches are particularly fond of this plant and can be seen in numbers at Tottenham and Walthamstow marshes.

This work was in response to works of art by Susan Derges concerning silhouetted wild plants against full moon night skies. I have based my work on abstracted Umbellifer plants.
